The system of fittings that allows the quick assembly and disassembly of Seavivor's frame is what allows us to acheive the extreme portability of our designs. Our extensive planning, design and testing have resulted in a system so quick and easy to use that complete assembly and breakdown are practical even for a short evening paddle.
Our fittings and fasteners are precision machined of brass and silicone bronze, insuring usability for decades. We no longer conformal coat them for a "show-room-new" look, as them chemistry is harmful to the environment. Over time the fittings take on a surface patina and deeper shading, revealing the normal development of a natural, anticorrosive oxide layer.
Assembly and disassembly of Seavivor® kayaks requires minimal force, protecting both parts and paddler from fatigue. Instructional assembly lettering is permanently burned into the woodwork before finishing -no manual required! Assembly time requires an average of fifteen minutes for most owners, but can be done in as little as three and one half minutes, as demonstrated on Will Shriner's nationally broadcast television program, "Why Didn't I Think of That?"
The design of our fitting system led to the granting of 28 claims of invention by the U.S. Patent Office.
